Resources → Immigration & Entry Requirements
Quick note: The rules below are typical requirements for student group travel but may vary by nationality, program length, or partner school. Global Travel Holdings will confirm the exact passport, visa, vaccination and supporting document checklist for every traveler during the planning phase.
General global rules & checklist (applies to every corridor)
- Passport validity: Most countries require passports valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry; always check your passport expiry before booking. (VFS Global)
- Short-stay vs long-stay study: Short study visits (generally ≤90 days) usually use a visitor or short-stay/student-mobility visa; stays >90 days typically require a national long-stay student visa or residence permit. (European Education Area)
- ETIAS / EES: Schengen/EU entry rules are modernizing (Entry/Exit System, ETIAS). Some biometric/authorization steps are being phased in- we’ll advise on timing and registration if applicable. (Reuters)
- Yellow fever / vaccinations: Many African countries require proof of yellow fever vaccination for travelers arriving from (or transiting) certain countries. Check required vaccinations early. (Africa CDC)
- Minor travel consent: If a student travels without both parents, many countries and airlines may require a notarized parental consent letter and copies of birth certificates. Bring original and copies. (Travel)
- Chaperones / teachers: Many host schools or visa processes require background checks or police-clearance certificates (FBI, ACRO, or local police) for adults supervising minors abroad- plan to obtain these early. (Destination TEFL)
